AN ITALIAN COMPANY
In 1999, PANDorà was founded in Taggia (precisely in the Argentina Valley, in the Ligurian Alps): there the handmade production of artisan bakery products started.
In 2003, the Italian brothers Andrea and Roberto decided to purchase PANDorà with the aim of growing the business, and so, during the first 5 years they invested the whole profit buying new machinery with the latest technology.
In 2008, during an international fair, PANDorà’s products drew the attention of Marks & Spencer: thus, the UK corporation was the first international private label customer to represent the bakery products of PANDorà.
After a few months PANDorà got the certification following the standard of BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, a consortium from the UK born with the aim of guaranteeing that the brand-products are obtained with precisely quality and safety standards and in compliance with minimum requirements: the BRC certification establishes and ensures the quality and safety of bakery products of PANDorà.
In March 2015, the company was transferred from the small laboratory of Taggia to the new plant of 4000 m2 in Borgomaro. The production line is state-of-the-art and with the latest technology: PANDorà is going faster and faster towards the “zero emission” milestone thanks to the pellet oven and to the photovoltaic plant placed on the roof of the food plant.
Borgomaro is a small village in the Liguria country-side (north-west of Italy) inside the Imperia province, in front of the Ligurian Sea and surrounded by olive trees. Moving the production plant to this ancient and traditional Ligurian hamlet gives the company an added value. Each person that comes here understands that they are in an ancient hamlet characteristic of Liguria.
PANDorà buys the raw material from a nearby supplier: the olive oil is from Imperia and the flour is from a small manufacturer south of Piedmont which mills only Italian grain.
In the last few years, PANDorà included in the Assurance and Quality control team a new figure highly specialised in Research & Development with the aim of creating new recipes for new products in compliance with the specific requirements of our customers.
PANDorà has always focused on bringing to customers’ tables bakery products of very high quality for over 20 years using the best raw materials. Also, in the subject of food safety, it relies on a sophisticated production control system.
In fact, the work method follows the Global Standard BRC (British Retail Consortium).
Our products are born from the ancient tradition of “Mastri Fornai” from Argentina Valley, with a particular craftsmanship and a wise mixing of natural ingredients of the Liguria country-side. They were able to enclose inside the thin crispy bread strips all the flavour of the soil.
Today, PANDorà uses the same processes and the same ingredients, with artisan labour for each piece of production, as it used to be.
For a few years, the company included in its production also the complete gamma of organic bakery products to satisfy even the most refined mouthfeel of whom, as a life choice, believe in a healthy and natural diet.
The products from the Organic Line of PANDorà are born from the union of flour (which is produced with the best organic grain) and the delicious Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The combination of these few natural ingredients, together with water and Mediterranean Sea salt, creates bakery products of unique simple taste and so delicate, crunchy and crumby at the same time.
In 20 years of business, we have developed an extensive experience in the artisan manufacture of the ingredients wherewith we produce our Ciappe (flatbreads), Focaccia, Grissini (breadsticks) and all the other bakery products: we know well both the traditional flours and the ancient stone-ground durum wheat, the olive oil, the salt and the spices.
We are fond of tradition, but also of innovation: we like to experience innovative recipes and discover new flavours.
